Man creates Facebook page calling for Filner recall

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Michael Pallamary is no stranger to Bob Filner. The professional land surveyor led the successful recall of City Councilwoman Linda Bernhardt in 1991.

A situation Pallamary says was caused by Filner's actions on the council. Now, he has created a Facebook page called Recall Bob Filner.

Pallamary told News 8 why a recall election would be preferable to Filner's resignation.

"If he resigns, he's gonna cost the city millions and millions of dollars, and he's also going to create so much turmoil. The recall is clean. One shot. You're done."

Pallamary says nearly 102,000 signatures would need to be gathered in 60 days to begin a recall effort against Mayor Filner.
