Two brothers dream of finding a forever family

Posted: Updated:

They say opposites attract and that holds true for the two brothers you're about to meet. Jonathan and Corey have different personalities. But they do agree on many things, including the desire to be part of a forever home.

There's never a dull moment between brothers Jonathan and Corey, each one always has the other as his captive audience for things like knock knock jokes.

They're about as close in age as biological brothers can be: one is 10 and the other is 11. Jonathan's birthday falls on Christmas Eve and Corey's on December 27. They are a year and three days apart.

But as bonded as they are, these brothers are very different.

It was clear from the get go, during the very first ride we hit at Boomer's San Diego, Corey couldn't wait to hop into a teacup, spinning as fast as he could while Jonathan decided to sit it out.

Then, it was off to the go-karts - a close race with a controversial finish.

"One's very competitive, I bet you can't guess which one, the other one, sweet, laid back lets his brother win he doesn't care, so sweet," explained Nicole Espinosa with San Diego County Adoptions.

It's a good dynamic that works for Jonathan and Corey who actually do agree on a lot of things, but still remain different. One thing in common, is they both love each other.

Jonathan and Corey are living in a foster home, but need a forever family. They tell me they'd like a mom and a dad to cheer them on, to play sports with and go to games.

"Corey spoke about wanting a dad that will get him on a baseball team and be there at his games and practices to encourage him," said Espinosa.

These brothers are hoping they're on the right track to be part of a forever home.

"We don't want them to grow up in foster care. We want them to go into an adoptive family, they're awesome boys and they deserve a family," noted Espinosa.
