Suspect arrested after wild chase involving several freeways

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A suspect is in custody Saturday after a wild police chase, which started on Interstate 5 in National City, near Main Street.

Police say the car was clocked at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour just after 10:00 p.m. Friday.

The chase then went to Highway 905, east to I-805, north to SR 94 and then west to I-15.

The driver then hopped back on I-5, continued north to Del Mar, then came back south.

Officers say they saw the man throwing things out of his car during the pursuit.

The chase ended back in National City where police say the suspect bailed and tried to run off, but was eventually tracked down by a police K-9 unit, while hiding in a ditch.
