SAN CARLOS (CNS) - One suspect was in custody, and two others were being sought, after a car theft early Sunday, a police dispatcher said.
La Mesa Police dispatcher Debbie Suenishi said a report of a stolen vehicle came in at 7:58 a.m.
"Police took one suspect, a white male, into custody," Suenishi said. "A helicopter was dispatched to search in the area of Lake Murray Boulevard and Jackson Drive for two other suspects."
The helicopter search was abandoned about 9 a.m. when the suspects could not be found, Suenishi said.
The man taken into custody was not identified. There were no injuries.
Suenishi identified the two at-large suspects as white males in their 20s.
