Accused bank robber appears in court

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Three suspects in a botched bank robbery were scheduled for a court appearance Monday, but only one showed up.

Laura Elshire was the only one to appear for the status conference. Robert Hodge, whom authorities caught in Mexico, was taken to the hospital over the weekend for an unknown reason.

The third suspect, Casey Alley, is still recovering from a gun shot wound and can only appear in court for a short time.

"Over the next several weeks at that point the doctor would then determine whether or not the (tracheotomy) can come out and he would have time to heal from that," a court spokesperson said.

The three are accused of trying to rob a Wells Fargo in University City last month.
