Shot fired after neighbors argue over smoking at complex

LA MESA (CBS 8) - A La Mesa man is in jail on suspicion of pointing a gun at his neighbors and firing a shot.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened Tuesday night at an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Jessie Avenue.

Neighbors say the suspect has been very agitated and confrontational. There had been arguments in the past and Tuesday night words were exchanged. That's when police say the suspect grabbed a gun and threatened his neighbors.

The gun was fired and a bullet hit a speaker. It is possible that the gun may have gone off on accident.

The suspect is identified as 46-year-old Ronald Neville. He is set to be arraigned Friday on charges including assault with a deadly weapon.
