El Cajon tattoo parlor goes up in flames, pet rescued

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A raging fire engulfs a tattoo shop in El Cajon overnight.

Flames ignited around midnight at Classic Tattoo in the 1000 block of Broadway in El Cajon. This is the same shop that was robbed earlier this year.

When firefighters arrived they found flames and smoke pouring out of the tattoo parlor. Adjacent buildings were also damaged.

"There was some smoke, some slight smoke and water damage to adjacent businesses and we did have a rescue of a pet rat out of the pet grooming business next door to the tattoo parlor," said Battalion Chief Bent Koch with Heartland Fire and Rescue.

The fire was knocked down in a few minutes.

The cost of the damage is still being estimated.

No injuries were reported.
