CHULA VISTA (CNS) - A wildfire scorched about 15 open acres near Sweetwater Reservoir Monday, spreading rapidly but causing no structural damage or injuries.

The blaze erupted for unknown reasons off San Miguel Road in the Chula Vista area about 4 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

Ground and airborne crews had the flames largely contained within an hour, said Mike Mohler, a captain with the state agency.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
