Men heading Filner recall efforts meet as 8th accuser comes forward

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The two men spearheading recall efforts to remove San Diego Mayor Bob Filner met Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, an eighth accuser is detailing her encounter with the mayor.

Michael Pallamary has accused Stampp Corbin of running an effort that's set up to fail. Corbin denies those claims.

Corbin told News 8 Wednesday he met with Pallamary and the two had a pleasant conversation regarding a plan to see how they can reconcile the issues of the recall. The two are expected to speak out later this week.

In the meantime, we're hearing from an eighth victim who alleges she was also sexually harassed by Filner.

Lisa Curtin is an administrator with San Diego City College. In an interview with KPBS, Curtin says she met with then-Congressman Filner in 2011 to discuss military education programs. She says Filner made a pass at her and tried to kiss her, even though she told him she was married and not interested.

"He pulled my hand closer to him and he reached over to kiss me. I turned my head at that moment, and on the side of my face I got a very wet, saliva-filled kiss, including feeling his tongue on my cheek," Curtin told KPBS.

Curtin goes on to say she knew Filner had no respect for women.

"It was boggling to me that a man could have so little respect of women, that could have the arrogance to do this to anyone, much less a fairly high-powered professional group," Curtain said.
