SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - City and state leaders came together Saturday to discuss the future of San Diego in light of the scandal surrounding Mayor Filner.
Politicians and voters gathered at Liberty Station for the third annual Politifest.
As many people continue to call for Mayor Filner's resignation, local leaders explored what's next for the city.
"No one could have predicted this. No question. Filner needs to resign," said council member Mark Kersey
Mayor Filner is scheduled to begin a two week stay at a behavioral clinic on Monday. He says he will receive daily briefings on city business while he's there.
Council members Todd Gloria and Kevin Faulconer are the rumored front runners to replace Filner as mayor should the seat open up.
