EL CAJON (CNS) - Two men and two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of breaking into an East County home and ransacking it Monday, police said.
A neighbor reported seeing a group of youths climbing a fence between two homes in the 1500 block of Robbiejean Place about 8 a.m., and responding officers spotted the suspects, who scattered when they saw the officers, Lt. Walt Miller said.
Officers searched the area and eventually caught all four suspects, ages 16, 17, 20 and 21. The names of the adults were unavailable this afternoon.
Someone had forced open a kitchen window on a nearby home, where valuables were stacked on a couch for easy removal, he said.
"The property appeared to have been purposely staged so that it could easily be taken from the residence," Miller said.
Some of items found on the suspects also were identified by the owner as stolen property, he said.
