Driver accused in deadly fire truck crash appears in court

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A Rancho Bernardo man charged in a crash that killed an aspiring model appeared in court Wednesday.

Robbie Gillespie is accused of being high on meth when the car he was driving collided with a fire truck in Poway. Nineteen-year-old Evelyn Courtney died in the crash.

Gillespie faces charges of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 12.
