San Diego Girl Scouts climb to the top of Mt. Whitney

Posted: Updated:

INYO, Calif. (CBS 8) - A group of San Diego Girl Scouts found themselves on top of the world last weekend.

The young women carried enough food, tents and supplies for 10 days in the wilderness.

The Girl Scouts San Diego outdoor adventure program offers teens hiking and backpacking trips all over California.

The girls train in wilderness safety, plan adventures for themselves and learn to work together to make each trip a success.
