NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 3doo, Inc. has been awarded a "Best 3-D Product" technology award by the International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society for its 3doo "Player App," the world's only global 3-D media platform and open marketplace.
The Society's awards presentations and annual meeting will be held at Paramount Studios September 18th, 2013, as a part of "3D Week" in Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. "3D Week" activities include: The International 3D Film Festival at LA Live and The World 3D Film Expo at the Egyptian theatre in Hollywood.
The 3doo "Player App," currently accessible on over 25 million Samsung, LG and Panasonic TV households in over 150 countries, is being recognized for its "innovation and user-friendly qualities," according to Society Awards Chairman Buzz Hays.

The 3doo Player App is a unique cross-platform app that greatly facilitates access to quality and diverse 3-D content from a Smart TV. The 3doo Player App also includes a complete marketplace that targets 3-D content according to both national market and device.
The 3doo Player App dynamically generates channels and allows producers to distribute 3-D content directly into Smart TVs. Intuitive and elegant user interface enables the 3-D consumer to directly access 3-D channels and featured free content currently, with pay-per-view Video-on-Demand in the next several months.
The 3doo team developed the Player App as 3-D content for home television viewers was starting to build, but without 3-D broadcast channels and or an effective technical means for talented young 3-D film producers to get their content to interested audiences.
A great deal of design thought was applied to the Player App user interface, to provide Smart TV viewers with exciting 3-D content with as few clicks as possible. 3doo also devised the concept of a universal market place that connects producers and studios directly with owners of any 3-D device, independent of the technology.
