Woman rescued from burning South Bay mobile home

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man delivering newspapers early Thursday got an Otay Mesa woman out of her mobile home after he noticed it was on fire, authorities said.

The noninjury fire at the Ocean Bluff Mobile Home Park at 3340 Del Sol Blvd. was reported at 4:57 a.m. and knocked down about 20 minutes later, according to a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher.

The man called 911 to report the fire but spoke only Spanish and was unable to give an exact address, she said. He then went to the front door of the home and knocked until the woman who lives there heard him and was able to get out.

The woman then got on the phone and was able to provide her address so crews could get there to put out the fire, the dispatcher said.

The cause was under investigation.
