MALIBU (CBS 8) - Serious health concerns at Malibu High School, after several teachers come down with thyroid cancer and contaminated soil is discovered on the quad.
Classes are being relocated at the school while environmental experts inspect the grounds for pathogens and poisons.
A parent says last Friday night after a football game he was helping his son put away equipment in a band room, when he noticed a strange odor.
"Something seriously wrong with this room, something very wrong with this room. This room is sick. It smelled odd, it's humid, something going on in here," said Gary Peterson.
There have also been multiple cases of migraines and other serious illnesses. There's concern that there could be toxic mold in the facility.
