Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man visiting San Diego accidentally drives onto the train tracks and manages to get out just before the train smashes into his rental car.

It happened overnight near Grape Street and Kettner Boulevard.

Police say the man in his 60's was visiting from Philadelphia. He was driving in a rental car following GPS directions, when he turned onto the tracks.

The car got stuck, so he got out and called 911. He managed to unload some of his belongings before the train hit the car and pushed it about half a city block.

No one was hurt.
