SAN DIEGO (AP) — Tony Seau, the youngest brother of former San Diego Chargers linebacker Junior Seau, has died. He was 36.
U-T San Diego reports (http://bit.ly/19FLQLt) the younger Seau died Thursday at an area hospital. The cause of death wasn't released.
Tony Seau played football as well at Palomar College in San Marcos and Eastern Washington University. But he had off-the-field problems. He pleaded guilty in 1993 to attempted murder in a gang-related attack that wounded a man. He served time at the California Youth Authority.
While at Eastern Washington in 2002, he was shot in the head during a gang-fueled argument at a party.
Junior Seau died at age 43 of a self-inflicted gunshot in May 2012.
