Fatal motorcycle crash in Encinitas

ENCINITAS (CNS) - A motorcyclist was killed Monday in a collision with a delivery truck on a coastal North County road.

The crash at Via Cantebria and Via Ultimo in Encinitas, between Encinitas Blvd at Leucadia Blvd, was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m., sheriff's Lt. Jason Vickery said.

The victim, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The roadways in that area were temporarily closed while police investigated the crash.
