Flooding in Rancho Santa Fe from broken pipe

Posted: Updated:

RANCHO SANTA FE (CNS) - Water was restored to six customers Tuesday after an 8-inch water main ruptured in Rancho Santa Fe, flooding multi-million dollar homes, authorities said.

The break on Lago Lindo, north of the Rancho Santa Fe Country Club, was reported at 12:18 a.m., according to a North County Fire Protection District dispatcher.

Crews were able to shut the water off quickly, but not before it sent water gushing through the upscale North County neighborhood.

Crews worked to repair the broken pipe throughout the morning. Water was restored to residents in the area at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
