SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A woman is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase Tuesday. It started on 47th Street and led onto the eastbound 94 freeway.

Officers followed a white SUV at speeds topping 90 miles per hour to state Route 125 and the 54, where it hit a spike strip and kept going.

The female driver continued onto Interstate 5, the 15 and back around to the 125 again.

"The vehicle pulled over at Jamacha, took one female into custody got her and some dope in the car and she will be booked for felony failure to yield and for the meth," San Diego police officer Mark Bennett said.

Police were on the lookout for a parolee at large whom they believed was hiding in the SUV, but after firing pepper balls and sending in a police dog the SUV was found to be empty.

No one was hurt.
