NESTOR (CBS 8) - A family of three is jarred out of bed Tuesday when a car slams through a wall of their South Bay house in the middle of the night.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on the 1800 block of Thelborn Way in Nestor. Police say two drivers were drag racing when one lost control.

Witnesses say the driver was going more than 80 per hour when he lost control and slammed into the home.

Inside at the time of the crash, a couple and their three-year-old daughter. No one was hurt.

Neighbors tell News 8 this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

"All I ask, is speed bumps," resident Clayton Howard said. "One thing I ask...you know what the city said? We can't put speed bumps in this area because of the evacuation route, in case of a tsunami. Are you kidding me?"

The driver of the car that crashed into the house was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police are still waiting for results from alcohol tests to determine exactly what charges each driver will face.

The driver of the second car was arrested at the scene.
