SAN DIEGO (CBS NEWS 8) - He didn't win the car -- but he sure was excited. A local teacher made a splash on Friday morning's episode of the Price is Right.

If you saw it, you'll probably remember, he took a bit of a spill getting up on stage.

"Awesome, phenomenal surreal, amazing."

That's how Matthew Cooper describes his experience as a contestant on the Price is Right.

While the episode was filmed back in July, the excitement hasn't faded, as demonstrated this morning when he and his wife, Sherry watched the episode for the first time.

Matthew, a traffic school instructor and Sherry, an associate professor at San Diego City College, went to the taping which was dubbed "teachers' day."

According to Matthew, he was picked to appear on stage based on his energetic pre-interview.

After winning four pairs of designer sunglasses, Matthew almost won a car and was close to reaching the showcase showdown.

Regardless, he says the experience was unforgettable and made possible by his wife who planned the entire trip.
