Only one candidate at mayoral forum in Talmadge

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS NEWS 8) - While the forum at the Veterans Museum and Memorial ended up being canceled -- another forum went on as scheduled earlier Saturday afternoon.

It was held at Hoover High School in Talmadge. But it turned out to be a one-man event.

All the candidates were invited to attend but only Councilman David Alvarez was on hand to answer questions from the audience.

"I think it's a little disrespectful. The community put together this forum a while ago and the fact they're not here is a little disrespectful to the community," Alvarez said.

The other candidates -- Nathan Fletcher, Mike Aguirre and Kevin Faulconer did not attend because of unspecified reasons.
