SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego is bracing for another round of rain after early morning showers made for a nightmare commute Monday.
The drive was especially tough on I-15 in Rancho Bernardo, where a big rig overturned and blocked all northbound lanes, spilling nearly 200 50-pound bags of salt. Officials opened carpool lanes to help ease congestion. The big rig's driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.
On state Route 54 near the Highland exit, the driver of a pickup truck lost control and rolled over down an embankment.
At about 10 a.m., a big rig crashed down an embankment along northbound Interstate 805 at the east connector to SR-54. Another rollover was also reported on I-15 near Aero Drive.
Also Monday, a box truck carrying bottled water crashed on I-905 near I-805.
More rain is expected overnight, and there could even be a chance of snow in the mountains.
The CHP is reminding drivers to slow down in wet weather.
