SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - About 15,000 San Diegans are expected to hit the streets this weekend for the 17th annual Susan G. Komen San Diego Race for the Cure.

The 5K run/walk kicks off at 8 a.m. Sunday in Balboa Park. Organizers say it raises a couple of million dollars for local Komen services and support.

"All of that money funds the county's largest program of free breast cancer treatment services and support for San Diego's uninsured women," Laura Farmer Sherman of Susan G. Komen San Diego said.

Join CBS News 8's Barbara-Lee Edwards, the DSC's Shelly Dunn and Team KFMB for the Race for the Cure.

Online registration is now closed, but you can register the morning of the race starting at 6 a.m.
