San Diego County gasoline price drops to lowest amount since Jan. 18

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped to its lowest amount since Jan. 18 Sunday, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.701.

The average price has decreased for 44 of the past 46 days and is 4.4 cents less than one week ago, 19.9 cents lower than one month ago and 30.4 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The dropping prices are the result of lower wholesale gasoline prices and Friday's shift to winter blend gasoline, which costs less to produce, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
