Women testify Tuite roamed neighborhood and acted odd

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The jury heard some disturbing testimony Wednesday at the retrial of Richard Tuite.

He's charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of 12-year-old Stephanie Crowe in 1998.

On Wednesday, two women spoke about their encounters with Tuite in the days before Crowe's death. They say Tuite roamed their neighborhood asking for someone named "Tracy."

"Knocking on doors, saying he wanted to talk to me and I was scared but I didn't want to scare my little girl," one woman said.

The second woman was a young girl at the time. She says Tuite followed her and asked her repeatedly about "Tracy" before she ran away.
