SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Earlier this week, we posted a spectacular picture of dolphins swimming in the surf at Mission Beach on our Facebook page. That image got a lot of attention, and now we're talking with the local photographer who captured it.

Mission Beach resident Jeff Lewis snapped the photograph on Wednesday. The twenty-something SDSU grad, who earns a living as a photographer primarily shooting weddings, said he was amazed how many people -- thousands of them -- viewed and appreciated his photo.

"Actually, I see them (the dolphins) every morning, but I guess it's something people don't see every day," he told News 8. "I was excited everybody loved it so much"

In this CBS News 8 video report, Richard Allyn has more from Mission Beach.

A genetic eye mutation gives a local artist super vision. She's reportedly the only artist in the world with this condition. And now she is giving the public a glimpse of the world through her eyes.
