LEMON GROVE (CNS) - A Monterey Heights Elementary School student reported being grabbed by a would-be abductor near the campus Tuesday, prompted deputies to fan out through the area in search of the man.
The 9-year-old went to an administration office at the Lemon Grove primary school shortly before 3 p.m. to report the encounter, saying it had occurred a short time earlier, according to sheriff's officials.
The child, who was uninjured, described the assailant as a heavyset, roughly 5-foot-8-inch Latino in blue jeans, Lt. Jason Vickery said.
There were no arrests as of late Tuesday afternoon.
