SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - In four days, San Diego voters will choose the man who will replace former mayor Bob Filner. Friday, we help you get to know former Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher.

CBS News 8 met the senior director of Qualcomm at the Living Room in Point Loma and asked the UC San Diego professor questions from you, the viewers.

GREG CODY: HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO MOVE FORWARD ON PROB B, PENSION REFORM?

"There has been a lot of problem with this. One of the promises that was made..was that firefighters and lifeguards would have death survivor benefits and that's promise hasn't been kept. Don't wait for the mayors race, do it now," said Fletcher.

KIM H: YEA OR NAY ON THE CONVENTION CENTER EXPANSION AND THE CHARGERS GETTING A NEW STADIUM?

"We should figure out how to get a new stadium....and then we'll come back and figure out how were going to do the stadium in a way to make sure the tax payers aren't on the hook," said Fletcher.

AS MAYOR WHAT ISSUES ARE TOP OF YOUR PRIORITY LIST?

"We do need to see that reprioritize and refocusing on making sure the residence get the basic things that they deserve. Safe communities, good streets, investment in opportunities and investment in jobs." In that order, starts with public safety.. that is the highest priority because of the work I did in the assembly...that's why I am the public safety choice," said Fletcher.

RENE ANGLO: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THE HOMELESS POPULATION IN DOWNTOWN?

"The homeless issue is one I became familiar with as a veteran....then we can find the money to take care of them when they come back. I think its a couple things, I think its we should adopt a housing first project. I want the public to hold us accountable," said Fletcher.

MIKE CARTER: HOW WILL YOU GENERATE MORE REVENUE FOR SAN DIEGO AND DOES IT INVOLVE RAISING TAXES?

"I want your taxes to be as low as possible, but we have to make sure we have money for police officers, teachers, firefighters and roads. I think the level of taxation in San Diego is about right. The way I'd like to see you get more revenue is actually getting more people employed. We put out a jobs plan that we think will generate 130,000 good jobs by 2020. It really is a focus on middle class jobs, working class jobs and good economic opportunities for everyone," said Fletcher.
