VISTA (CNS) - A probationer accused of gunning down another young man during a gang dispute in Oceanside is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at the courthouse in Vista.

Detectives arrested Torrey Michael Deangelis, 20, on Sunday in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Ozzy Maturano.

The deadly gunfire erupted shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday during a confrontation between two groups of rival gang members alongside a stretch of train tracks off the 300 block of Neptune Way, police Lt. Aaron Doyle said.

Passers-by found the the victim lying face-down on a bike path, suffering from a single gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Deangelis, an Oceanside resident, was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of murder, assault with a deadly weapon, a probation violation and a gang-activity allegation. He was being held without bail pending arraignment.
