Police chase ends in crash in Linda Vista

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 34-year-old man who was wanted on a felony warrant allegedly led police on a brief chase from Rolando to Linda Vista, where he crashed his car into an apartment building, a police officer said Saturday.

Police officers attempted to pull over Xaydene Xaphilom in the vicinity of El Cajon Boulevard and 54th Street about 4:30 p.m. Friday in connection with the warrant stemming from a burglary charge, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

However, the driver failed to stop, then led police into the Linda Vista neighborhood, Cali said.

The chase ended less than 10 minutes later, when Xaphilom allegedly crashed into the front of an apartment building at 6883 Osler St., Cali said. No one was injured, the officer said.

Xaphilom was arrested following the crash, Cali said.

He was booked into San Diego Central Jail for suspicion of several offenses, including evading police and possession of a controlled substance, according to online jail records.
