SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A San Diego police officer heroically risks his life to save an unconscious driver from a burning car.

Officer Scott Brengi says he was just doing his job when he put his life on the line to save the man from the fiery crash Saturday.

"My thinking was 'this guy's not going to die on my clock, not gonna die on my watch,'" he said.

The vehicle rolled over and burst into flames at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Rancho Mission Road near the Mission San Diego trolley stop.

In this video report, CBS News 8's Matt Johnson has more with how Officer Brengi managed to get that driver out of danger.
