Robber armed with gun holds up Encinitas bank

ENCINITAS (CBS 8) - Sheriff's deputies are looking for a robber who held up a bank in Encinitas Tuesday.

It happened just after 12:30 p.m. at the Citibank branch located at 113 North El Camino Real.

Deputies say a gun was seen tucked into the suspect's waistband. After getting cash, the robber was last seen walking away.

A sheriff's helicopter searched the area overhead, but found nothing at the time.

Witnesses describe the robber as a Hispanic male with brown eyes in his late 50's to early 60's. He stands approximately 6'0" to 6'1" tall with a thin to medium build, weighing about 190 to 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a white baseball type cap, blue jeans, dark colored long sleeve button downed jacket or shirt, and white tennis shoes. He had a faded tattoo approximately one inch in length possibly of a bird, but also had something described as a wing on left side of neck.
