SDSU students restrain neighbor for police

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A young man is in custody after a fight broke out at in front of a house near San Diego State University overnight.

An SDSU student was sitting in his car on his cell phone when a neighbor smashed his back windshield on Connie Drive.

Kima Mokhbery was cut by glass, but says no punches were thrown. His roommates helped him wrestle the suspect to the ground until police arrived.

"I have no idea who the guy was. He's my next door neighbor, but apparently his roommates are saying he could be on some type of prescription drug," Mokhbery explained. "They are saying he never had an episode like that before so it was surprising to them too."

Mokhbery says he's thankful his roommates were there to help. His injuries are minor.

There is no word yet as to what charges the suspect will face.
