BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Buffalo and San Diego State have accepted invitations to play in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise later this month.
The postseason opportunity is just the second in school history for the Bulls (8-4, 6-2 Mid-American Conference) and the first since 2009.
San Diego State (7-5, 6-2 Mountain West Conference) will be making its fourth consecutive bowl appearance but its first in the Potato Bowl, played at Bronco Stadium Dec. 21.
The Bulls are led by outstanding linebacker Kahlil Mack, voted the winner of the 2013 Jack Lambert Award for the top linebacker in college football. This season, Mack has recorded 94 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
The Aztecs are led by quarterback Quinn Kaehler, who has thrown for 2,796 yards and 17 touchdowns.
