Mega Lotto jackpot up to $425M

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Some lucky person could soon be throwing the ultimate holiday party.

The Mega Lotto jackpot has swollen to more than $400 million dollars, the second largest in the game's history. The drawing is Friday night.

Ticket sales were brisk Friday at one store in Scripps Ranch, even through the odds of winning are one in 259 million.

"Ah it's crazy, lottery fever. Everybody wants to win. Everybody wants to be a millionaire," store manager Paul Kato said.

The winning ticket must match the six numbers drawn.

If no one wins Friday night, the jackpot will increase to $550 million.
