Man pulls knife on woman in department store

SAN DIEGO (CNS/CBS 8) - Police need information on a man who threatened a woman with a knife at a department store.

The man confronted a woman and her infant child in a women's restroom at an Oak Park department store Thursday, fleeing when the mother shrieked in fear, authorities reported.

The stranger, who was carrying a backpack and wearing a long-sleeved white shirt that covered his hands, emerged from a stall in the lavatory at the Kohl's in the 3300 block of College Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. and tapped the woman on the shoulder while waving the weapon in the air, according to San Diego police.

She responded by screaming, at which point the man fled, Sgt. Ray Battrick said.

The victims were unharmed.
