SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A masked thief robbed a La Jolla pharmacy at gunpoint and later was found dead in his apartment from an apparent suicide using the drugs he stole, police officials said Saturday.
The man reportedly robbed a CVS pharmacy in the 7500 block of Eads Avenue shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Friday with a pistol while wearing a suit and a Halloween-style mask, police said.
The parents of the man became worried when they had not heard from their son and asked a neighbor to check on him, according to police.
The neighbor found the man unconscious in his apartment in the 400 block of Rosemont Street and called the police. When officers arrived an undisclosed time later, they determined the man had apparently committed suicide using the prescription drugs he stole.
Officers also located evidence from the robbery, and the vehicle involved.
