SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man smuggling more than four pounds of heroin was arrested at the San Clemente checkpoint on Interstate 5.

A K-9 team alerted agents to the presence of drugs. After a search, they found two bundles of heroin hidden inside the right rear-quarter panel of this 2004 Nissan Quest.

The man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and the car and drugs turned over to the DEA.

The heroin has a street value of more than $56,000.
