SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Zoo is teaming up with Rady Children's Hospital to bring happiness to kids.
The plan is to bring a world of animals to every patient at Rady's through an in-hospital television channel. The channel, called San Diego Zoo Kids, shows patients programming about endangered animals, including video from panda cams and up-close animal encounters. It's available in all patient rooms and in waiting areas.
"Caring for sick and injured children goes beyond providing excellent medical care," Rady Children's acting President Donald B. Kearns said.
The project was funded by Denny Sanford, a businessman and philanthropist.
