EL CAJON (CBS 8) - An El Cajon apartment complex riddled with crime has a few less convicted criminals living in the area.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department targeted the Terraza Hills apartment complex in El Cajon Wednesday morning in a sweep called "Operation Silent Night. "
The complex is located in the 400 block of East Bradley where deputies say in the last year crime in that area went up 57 percent.
"In East County this is going to be a safe community and we are not going to tolerate crime out here," said Lt. Roy Frank.
Ten people, including two juveniles, were arrested following a probation compliance check including possession of meth and other drugs and stolen property. One woman was arrested for having a stolen gun in a child's bedroom.
