SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - If you haven't done your holiday shopping yet, it might not be such a bad thing.
Retailers are desperate to move products this year -- and for procrastinating shoppers, the wait just might be worth it.
While trying to prove if bargains really do get bigger and better the longer shoppers wait, we were fortunate to bump into Tiffany Alexander. She says the sales signs and endless mailers don't lie. Retailers offer last minute discounts and promotions to attract the late last-minute shoppers.
"Absolutely, I worked at Sun Diego as well, we're going to put the deals in at the very end to get you in our store," she said.
Industry analysts say the deepest discounts can be found buying clothing, winter apparel and cameras. Although no one ever wants to admit they're bringing up the rear, truth is, procrastination pays.
Consumer experts say foul weather on the East Coast set shoppers behind this year, and the West Coast is capitalizing on the national chains trying to make up for lost ground.
