SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Fans attending Thursday night's Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium are urged to find alternative routes to Interstate 15 to Friars Road as it's expected to be the most congested artery into the stadium with heavy traffic and major delays.
With only 14,000 parking spaces for the 66,000-seat stadium, the stadium parking lot is expected to fill up two hours before 6:30 p.m. opening kickoff.
Those planning on driving to the stadium are urged to carpool in vehicles with a capacity of four or more or to arrive two or three hours before the start of the game.
Other parking alternatives:
- San Diego State University, paid visitor parking is available in designated campus lots with rates varying by location. Take the San Diego Trolley from SDSU Transit Center to access the stadium.
- Mission City Corporate Center at 2365 Northside Drive, adjacent to the stadium take Friars Road west to Northside Drive. Parking is $30.
- Marriott Mission Valley, take Friars Road and exit Qualcomm Way to Rio San Diego Drive. Take the San Diego Trolley to access the stadium from Rio Vista Station. Parking is $15.
- Town and Country Hotel, continue on Friars Road West past Fashion Valley Mall and exit on Fashion Valley Road. Take the San Diego Trolley from Fashion Valley Station to access the stadium, parking is $15.
