3.3 magnitude quake rattles East County

BORREGO SPRINGS (CNS) - An earthquake with an apparent magnitude of 3.3 reportedly rocked the deserts of East County at 10:33 a.m. Monday.

The epicenter was 8 miles north of Borrego Springs, near the Riverside County line and about 18 miles south of La Quinta.

The preliminary quake report came from automated sensors and had not been immediately reviewed by scientists for accuracy.
