SAN YSIDRO (CNS) - San Diego police Thursday investigated the stabbing of a 42-year-old man who said he was stabbed in Mexico, then walked across the San Ysidro Port of Entry on New Year's Day.
The stabbing at 720 E. San Ysidro Blvd. was reported at 11:54 a.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.
Custom agents stopped the man after they noticed that he was bleeding from his neck, Cali said in a statement.
Paramedics took him to a local hospital, he said, noting that the wound, though serious, did not appear life-threatening.
The man told investigators he was stabbed in Mexico but did not say who stabbed him or why, Cali said.
