SD mayoral candidates mingle with voters

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego's mayoral candidates hit the streets Saturday talking to voters and spreading their message.

City councilmember David Alvarez mingled with shoppers and vendors at Little Italy's farmers market while councilmember Kevin Faulconer hosted an open house for southeastern San Diego community residents in Logan Heights.

Both candidates are looking forward to the upcoming election.

"We're excited. We've got a lot of energy and a lot of momentum opening up the new campaign office today. It's all about bringing our message of jobs, opportunity, and experience to every single neighborhood," Faulconer said.

"The campaign has always been focused on talking to voters and engaging them in conversation. Giving people the opportunity to talk to me, the accessibility so they can ask me anything they want about how I feel about the city, tell me how they feel about the city," Alvarez said.

The mayoral election will be held on Feb. 11th.
