EL CAJON (CBS 8) - A woman awaiting trial for a Bonnie and Clyde-style crime spree has been bound over for trial on separate charges of plotting to attack a sheriff's deputy.
Prosecutors say Cindy Garcia and fellow inmate Cassandra Gonzalez planned to assault a guard at the Las Colinas Women's Detention Center.
They say the two were romantically involved and were looking to extend Gonzalez's time in jail before she was moved to prison. Another deputy described how Gonzalez went through with the attack.
"She used both of her hands and grabbed the side of her head and started to bang her head at least twice into the concrete," the deputy testivied.
Gonzalez was also ordered to stand trial. Garcia is awaiting trial for a 2012 crime spree that ended with SDPD officers shooting and killing her 40-year-old husband.
