SAN DIEGO (CBS 8/CNS) - A sampling of San Diego favorites is on the line when the Chargers take on the Broncos in Denver on Sunday.

Interim Mayor Todd Gloria and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock made their bet by phone.

"Last week I bet some of our city's finest craft beers," Gloria said. "This week I'm betting some of our tastiest Mexican food. Given my certainty that we won't have to pay this bet, I urge Mayor Hancock to try these dishes the next time he visits our great city."

Here's a look at the food on the table:

The California burrito from Ortiz's taco shop in Ocean Beach, where Chargers fans predict the Chargers will chew up the Broncos. Mayor Gloria has also offered up the carne asada fries from Lolita's taco shop in Kearny Mesa, which the family-owned business, celebrating 30 years next week, says is a big honor.

And the final meal on the mayor's menu is the world famous beer-battered deep-fried catfish tacos from Mama Testa Taqueria in Hillcrest.

"We did a 'Throwdown with Bobby Flay' on Food Network and we beat him. So we have the honor of being the only restaurant in San Diego to have beaten Bobby Flay. So if we can beat Bobby Flay, I'm sure the Chargers can beat manny on Sunday," an employee at Mama Testa said.

If Gloria is right and Denver loses, its mayor will send Gloria its best green chili.

"If you can have that here by Monday, that'd be amazing, Gloria told Hancock.

San Diego has been energized by the Chargers' five-game winning streak that propelled them into the playoffs, where they routed the Bengals, 27-10, in Cincinnati.

Gloria is set to receive from Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley food samples from three Queen City-based chains -- Gold Star Chili, Graeter's Ice Cream and Montgomery Inn barbecue.

Gloria is urging city employees to support the Bolts by wearing Chargers gear or Chargers colors to work on Friday.

Also, the new Central Library dome will be lighted in Charger Blue and Gold until 11 p.m.
